My approach to counseling involves the client-centered philosophy of Carl Rogers, which emphasizes unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding, and the belief that clients possess the innate capacity for personal growth and healing.
I try to create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to explore their authentic selves. In addition. I also attempt to integrate the spiritual dimension of healing as outlined by Elfie Hinterkopf, honoring clients' personal spiritual experiences and values as essential resources in the counseling process.
By uniting these perspectives in an eclectic way, I try to offer a holistic, respectful, and individualized approach that supports emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being and includes the use of FOCUSING.
My favorite contemporary author is Jeffrey Kottler, who teaches counselors a practical way to practice counseling and has a fascinating way of personalizing the counseling process.
